Learn How to Monetize Your Site

Family Business Experts is an extensive SBI! site approaching an Alexa rating of 100,000... it's theme is "family business", which is not a good potential keyword on its own. But that was the consulting [Service!] business my colleague had developed his reputation and expertise in. We both wanted to bring traditional consulting and professional services to the online world. So I figured out how to adapt SBI! and find the niches that let us reach a world-wide audience. And monetize his knowledge and experience with info products and advertising revenue as well as consulting fees.

I have over 35 years experience in many businesses and have always felt that two of the most powerful principles of management are the KISS principle and the Pareto [aka 80/20] Rule. Packages where I build the site for you.

For larger projects or major components of building your site, where I do most or all of the work, I have package deals that involve a lower hourly rate. 
 

• These projects will work on a contract basis, with the contract spelling out up front what I am to do, what you provide, how we track and agree on pprogress and measure completion, and Milestones for tracking progress.

• We will use an email process like the "Change Orders" in the construction industry to vary the contract where you want items added to or deleted from the original contract.

• The contracts payment basis will be industry-standard: one-third of total payment at the outset before work commences; one-third at the half-way point that we agree on; the final one-third on completion. 

Every situation is different, so it will take us some time at the beginning to be able to describe in writing what we both want and need to get the project done. But it's a lot easier to get it written down then that to sort it out later!

Even where I build most of the site, there are differences from the amount of material you have or will produce for me to work with. But here are some  scenarios, and the very approximate package price that might be involved.
 

• 5 page Starter site. I do the keyword searches, writing and production, based on content material you provide . Ideal low-budget, starter site... from there, you can add pages to get it ready to promote. Rough estimate: $600

• 12 page Minimum site - this is the minimum size for listings in directories and search engines. Rough estimate: $1,400

• 20 page Ready-for-Listing site, ideal for the business that really wants to get listed and start to build serious traffic. Rough estimate: $2,200

• Individual page $75

• Hourly work - Brainstorming, site reviews, etc.  These projects will usually be handled by e-mail. $85

Hourly telephone consulting where you buy just the amount of help you need... when you need it. "Pay-as-you-go".

I provide  hourly telephone consulting for your flexibility at a rate of $85 [US] per hour.

The cost is $25 for me to reveiw your information and discuss it with you. It will typically take you about 15 minutes to complete, and you can attach your business plan if you have one. After my review, we'll usually need about an hour on the telephone.
